To minimize build up & reduce cleaning needs, we recommend using a resin resistant solution such as Piece Water to pour clean. Keeping your water clean keeps your glass clean! Our cleaner of choice is Resolution Colorado Gel due to its very low alcohol precentage & reuseable properties.

Copper Wire Jewlery & Accessories

Copper is a soft metal that hardens during the process of creating, although it remains very malleable after production it should be handled with care.

Cleaning
We recommend using a polishing cloth with a solutions such as lemon juice& water. You can use lemon juice to brighten your copper jewelry. Pure lemon juice will give the metal a pinkish appearance, but you can dilute the lemon juice with a little water. We recommend applying the lemon juice with a cotton swab to avoid dipping the stone in the acidic solution. Always rinse your jewelry with clean water & pat dry with a towel.
Copper cleaner is another alternative, but please remember to rinse well after cleaning. Leaving residue of the cleaner on the metal may create a green patina in the crevices. We do not recommend this for intricate pendants.
Note: Copper cleaner may remove the black patina from your jewelry.

Allergies
Allergies to copper are common & should be taken into considerations before purchasing, especially for those wishing to buy a gift for a loved one. If you have severe allergies please trust your instincts & stick with metals that you know you can wear. We encourage you to do your own research regarding the subject or speak with your local jeweler. For custom orders on rings, we would recommend sticking with sterling silver.
Note: All chains provided with pendants (necklaces) are hypoallergenic.

Skin Discoloration
Note: Our collection pieces are made with a gold colored copper wire which acts as a seal to prevent skin discoloration.
Many people avoid copper wire jewelry due to its reputation of turning skin green, but please don't discard this beautiful metal because of this bad reputation! This harmless side effect doesn't happen every time or to everyone. For majority of people, most pendants won't be in contact with your skin enough to turn it green. The green color you see is simply a chemical reaction of your body's pH level to the copper. Copper is beneficial to our health & can be absorbed through the skin, helping to alleviate certain health problems. It has been used since ancient times in natural medicine. These green marks are not allergic reactions & they wash off.

Oxidation
Non-dipped copper wire is famous for its ability to quickly oxidize. It is a beautiful metal that is always changing! Polished copper will have a bright, golden pink appearance & it is often mistaken for rose gold (rose gold is gold mixed with copper). Please note that copper & rose gold are very different! Even though our photos are taken after polishing, your jewelry non-dipped copper jewelry will gain orange & eventually dark brown hues after being exposed to oxidants in the air.
Note: Our collection pieces are made with a gold colored copper wire which acts as a seal to prevent oxidization.

Storing
To help slow oxidation, you can store keep copper jewelry in an airtight plastic bag or container. Never store your jewelry when wet, as the humidity will form a green patina on the metal. Always store your jewelry away from sunlight, heat & humidity. Never leave your jewelry in the bathroom or a hot car. Please keep in mind that your jewelry is fragile & should be stored in a safe place like a jewelry box.

Sterling Silver Jewlery & Accessories

Sterling silver filled wire is a soft wire that hardens during the process of creating, although it remains very malleable after production & should be handled with care. Sterling silver filled wire is a recent wire that has either a copper or brass core, bonded with a thick layer of 99% fine silver. Even though the silver that is bonded on the surface is more pure than .925 sterling silver, it has still earned the name "sterling silver filled" (or SF) in the jewelry world. Sterling silver filled jewelry is very different than silver plated jewelry. Silver plating is microscopic & can never be polished once the metal tarnishes, & for this reason is often coated with a clear lacquer. Plated jewelry wears away with time. Sterling silver filled jewelry has a thick enough layer of silver (either 1/20th or 1/10th of its body weight depending on the grade) & can be treated like real silver in many ways: it can be hammered, oxidized & polished. It will also tarnish like real silver & will need to be properly stored & cleaned, but will last you a lifetime if you treat it with care.

Cleaning Silver:
Sterling silver filled jewelry can be cleaned with products bought from a local store or online.
Polishing Pads: Polishing pads work well to remove heavy tarnish & can be folded to work in hard-to-reach places. These work especially well on fragile or intricate pieces since not much pressure needs to be applied to brighten the metal. Make sure to avoid polishing pads with any abrasives as it may dull the appearance of the silver.
Silver cleaner: Silver cleaner can be used to brighten your tarnished silver jewelry. It can also be used on antique silver jewelry, but please use in moderation so that you don't risk damaging the black patina. Always rinse your jewelry well with water & allow it to dry before storing.

Storing
Sterling silver filled jewelry will stay bright on its own if you wear it frequently. Although if you plan to set it aside for a long period of time, it is best that you store it properly. To help slow oxidation, you can store your clean jewelry in an airtight plastic bag or container, Never store your jewelry when wet, as the humidity will form a green patina on the metal. Always store your jewelry away from sunlight, heat & humidity. Never leave your jewelry in the bathroom or a hot car. Please keep in mind that your jewelry is fragile & should be stored in a safe place like a jewelry box.

Oxidation
Sterling silver filled wire will tarnish over time due to oxidation. For this reason, we choose at times to apply a clear lacquer to help prevent tarnish from resting in the wire weaves or crevices. On designs that can be more easily polished, we will leave the metal natural because natural metals will have a brighter shine & last longer.

Thank you!
